Schylling makes high-quality toys and I own many of their products. This rubber piggy bank continues their tradition of excellence.
However, this bank is either for very young children - which, based on many of the reviews posted here, are babies and toddlers (despite manufacturer recommendations of 3 years and up) - or older children. I do not recommend this bank for the mid-range child, ages 4-8 years.
Turns out that my children wanted to see their savings add up. A clear glass piggy bank and a counting jar replaced this otherwise outstanding gift given to both my 4-year old son and 6-year old daughter.
For durablity, safety and styling, this is a great product, but for kids who are developing money sense, stick with the traditional glass or see-through models.

Schylling Rubber Piggy Bank Another reviewer said she could not remove smudges when it arrived; I used "Goo-Gone" (can we advertise another product here?!) and it disappeared w/o any trace residue. We're going to give the piggy bank to our grandson for Christmas.

I got this cute piggy bank for my granddaughter. I like that it is plastic and not ceramic. Helps her learn to save money. It is a more natural looking pig than the other normal piggy banks. The bandana adds a cute touch.

This piggy bank is great! My 1 year old twins love to carry them around. They can put money in, shake it around, drop it, and the bank won't break. Plus you can get the money out if you want without breaking it. Very good bank for small children.
