Fun but could be improved December 1, 2008 C. Rensch I bought this for my daughter who is 2. She has many of the Step 2 Mainstreet Village playsets - which she spends hours playing with. This mat has been a lot of fun for her as well - however it is constantly coming apart since she crawls all over it. The playmat is made of cardboard puzzle pieces and they don't stay together very well when she is crawling around playing with the vehicles and people etc. This is a great idea - however it would be much better if the mat was all in one piece and maybe made of foam, vinyl like the farm's playmat, or carpet. I have not tried taping the underside of the puzzle pieces so that they stay together- this might help. Would I buy again - probably just because it really adds to my daughter's imagination play.
not for hardwood floors! November 24, 2008 dznermom (Chicago, IL) It's basically a coated cardboard, so when it sits on a hardwood floor, it's very slippery. My daughter's slid on it twice and fell. I'm probably going to stick some little rubber feet on it because it's cute, but as is, it is very dangerous.
