Motor is Broken March 11, 2010 R. Green (Albany, NY United States) Love the cute a versatile swing, and was aware that some have motor problems right off the bat, so I assembled it well in advance of our little one arriving. The motor appeared fine. When I put my little one in it, however, the motor completely crapped out. I will see what the manufacturer or retailer will do to replace the motor or the whole thing, but it's the last thing I want to do while looking after my newborn!
A little confusion.... March 9, 2010 Sean Ryan (San Antonio, TX USA) Okay, folks... maybe it's me but I have been reading the reviews for the Fisher Price Precious Planet Cradle Swing and I have been noticing that everyone is talking about an adapter for it instead of batteries and how good this is. Only one problem with these reviews.... they are not for the right swing. If you read those reviews, they are talking about the Rainforest swing, which is a totally different swing. The Precious Planet swing I have (verified by product ID through Fisher Price) has no spot for an adapter, nor is there a mention of one in the manual. Without the adapter, this swing seriously, to put it midly, sucks. The batteries die after 2 days of being run for 3 or 4 hours, the leg has collapsed after verifyingits correct placement. I have read the manual 4 times people and I am still having problems with getting the swing to work, even on brand new batteries. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Fisher-Price Rainforest Open-Top Cradle Swing March 8, 2010 Christina Battles (Midland City, AL, USA) I love this swing more than my daughter! It is extremely easy to get her in and out. The plug-in feature saves tons on batteries. And it offers so much: different seat positions, swing-away mobile, and different music/sounds. It's great!
Awesome Swing February 24, 2010 A. Tebow (Long Beach, CA United States) This swing is wonderful and light-years better than the swing my friends had three years ago. We borrowed their swing at first and it was just annoying! The adjustable recline feature on this new swing is great. I love that I can swing the mobile out of the way if needed. The music is alright, but my son prefers to listen to real music on the iPod anyway. I do like that the music stays on for a long time, unlike the old swing. The swing did swing a bit too far on the lowest setting when my son was a newborn, but we added a blanket to the seat and that fixed the problem right away. It was easy to assemble and IT PLUGS INTO THE WALL!! I can't begin to explain how wonderful that is to not have to change batteries all the time.
Some problems, but excellent customer service resolved the issues and we love this swing! February 23, 2010 Shauna M Zosso (Mississippi) We bought this swing for our 3 week old when we realized that she was a baby who demanded to constantly be held - the motif is adorable, the mobile a very convenient way to entertain your infant and the easy transition between swinging styles is an awesome feature. We did have some trouble, however - just 2 1/2 weeks later, the swing motor stopped working. The mobile and music continued to work, but the swing just wouldn't go. The morning after we figured this out, we called Fisher Price and they were great about helping us out - they had us try a few quick fixes, and when none were successful they just offered to send us a new motor housing.
So PLEASE do not let any reviews about this problem (which there have been a few) keep you from buying this swing! For $100, you are getting an awesome swing that your baby will love, will look adorable in any room with an animal motif, and will save every new mommy's sanity. If you wind up need to wait a few days for a (completely free) new motor, you still got an awesome deal. Both me and my baby love this swing!
