Much better than snowsuits! December 14, 2008 Lauren Henkelman (Wausau, WI) I love this product. It is soo much easier to use than a bulky snowsuit! And safer too, because your baby is snug in the straps, not behind a layer of puffy clothing. The only complaint I had is that I wish there was velcro or a snap to hold the flap down. My son pulls it up onto his face while we're in the car which makes me worry about suffocation.
Great product November 19, 2008 Sven (Holland, MI) I would recommend this to anyone looking for an quick and easy way to strap your child into/out of a car seat. Its so much easier than strapping in a baby with a coat or bodysuit. Keeps baby very warm and dry and makes my life easier too. No more adjusting car seat straps depending on what outfit baby is wearing, just throw on a hat and let the bundle me keep him warm. One of the best purchases we have made for our son. When he grows out of the infant size, we will purchase the larger size for next years Michigan winter.
practical November 10, 2008 Mellie13 (MD) Nice, but wish I had ordered the original one instead now. The reason why I decided to get this one was the outer wind and rain resistant fabric. Because I have to cart my new baby in his carseat around a lot (from the parking lot to my 4 year old's pre-school, etc.) I wanted something to protect him when it rains or is really windy. Figured that fleece is not as wind resistant and handle rain as well as the wind breaker type outer fabric of the urban bundle me. However, the urban version doesn't seem as warm and thick (for the winter) because it doesn't have the plushier faux shearling lining as the original one. Although, it does have a bit of fiber filling, sort of like a very thin comforter. Overall though, it is very nice.
Serves its purpose but what's with the huge flap? October 23, 2008 Netsirk (MN, USA) I purchased the lightweight version and liked that so went with the Urban version (I had heard the other one can get fuzzy on the baby's hands). It keeps him warm, for sure, but I don't LOVE it for the following reasons: 1) Overly large front flap: I have to be careful to not pull it too high where it would unfold and fall onto my son's face. What is its purpose? Maybe it's to create more warmth, but it doesn't cover the feet, so just the core gets overheated while the toes are colder. I see it as a waste of fabric and a slight (smothering) concern. This wasn't so much an issue with the lightweight version b/c it easily folded over. But the Urban has some significant bulk. Plus, it blocks his view over his tummy. And when you unzip it, there is a greater chance it will drag on the floor (b/c it's longer). I see this as an example of a design created more for the "look" than for the ease of use. 2) Hole for three point harness: This sits right behind my son's head causing a crease in his head skin. Uncomfortable, I assume. 3) Velcro to attach around the (5 point) harness -- I wish they were wider and flatter. Or just flatter. It doesn't seem to be as flat and poses a comfort problem. All in all, I like the concept, but this is probably not the ideal design.
SO COMFORTABLE! October 4, 2008 J. MCNEILL (Kansas) So comfortable for baby! My little girl was toasty in her's while me and my husband were FREEZING out in the snow and sleet! BEST SHOWER GIFT EVER! I had it hooked up to my carseat when I left the hospital and even the nurses commented on how awesome they were. I did not find that they were a safety hazard whatsoever.
