This is just smart. Despite it's overwhelmingly complicated name, the STOKKE KinderZeat, is a valuable transitional seating solution for kids who are too big (or think themselves too big) for a highchair but not yet ready for full-size kitchen chairs. Triangularly shaped, the chair features an adjustable seat and an adjustable foot rest so it can be tailored specifically to the needs of growing kids. The foot rest also functions as a sort of ladder rung so younger kids can climb up into the seat. What's remarkable about the KinderZeat, again besides the name, is how incredibly strong it is. The fact that it can withstand 300 pounds doesn't just mean Dad can jump up and down on it, it means that the chair can easily take all the punishment that high-impact kids routinely dish out. --Charlie Williams

5 out of 5 stars She now sits at the table   June 3, 2008

She is almost 4, loves her chair, shows it to grandma and others when they come to the house. Safe, well made, safety baby straps come off without a problem and it looks good. It's a keeper

5 out of 5 stars very good   May 25, 2008

I'm absolutely satisfied with this product. I come from Germany and there this highchair won the tests in childs highchairs. Thatswhy I had a stokke chair in Germany for my both childs. Now I live in America and I bought this chair again, because of the high quality, the practicability and not least the good looking. The only bad thing about it is the high price. I love this chair and my childs do it too.

1 out of 5 stars the worst purchase we've made since becoming parents   May 22, 2008

i just want to begin by saying that i'm a bleeding heart liberal with solar panels and homeschool tendencies - i LOVE the idea of the tripp trapp. but my experience has been much different. believe me, i tried very hard to like this chair.

we bought this high chair against all advice from our parents (no tray??), spouting stuff about 'family meals' and kids sitting at the table, and everything else stokke says about this chair. we've been proven wrong on every count: our daughter started pushing herself away from the table at six months, so a regular chair with tray would have been fine. the foot plate is a great idea in theory, but she just uses it to stand on. the straps do not adjust as she grows, and are incredibly difficult to change while she's sitting in the chair - the only way to adjust with any accuracy. the cushions are useless, as they get dirty every time she eats and are difficult to remove and put back on. the adjustability of the seat is a nice idea, but who can remember where that little allen wrench got to amid the clutter of regular family life? i have found this chair more frustrating than useful - and none of what stokke claims has proven true in our case. my friends also have one and forget about the chair being useful as kids get older: like most kids, their son wanted to eat at the table like a big kid at around age two and a half. since then their high chair has sat empty. so much for that utopian idea.

we are ashamed to have believed the stokke marketing. this is the single worst purchase we've made since becoming parents, and was a huge waste of money. if i could do it over, i'd buy that thirty dollar aluminum and vinyl jobbie i saw at salvation army and save the rest.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful chair - buy it now!!   April 14, 2008

I waited until my son was 15months old to buy this chair...it was worth every penny. I wish I had bought it sooner. It is soooo easy to clean and it is comfortable for him too. It is also nice because it allows the child to sit at the table with the rest of the family.

Great buy...don't hesitate.

Also, I am using it without the cushion, and my son is fine with it. He doesn't complain that it is hard, and no cushion makes clean-up even easier.

1 out of 5 stars 1 Star for Safety 5 Stars for Looks   June 18, 2007

As great as this chair looks, it is not very safe for my 20 month old. He has figured out how to unclip the 'safety strap' and now within 5 seconds of sitting in the chair, can get out and slide down. The chair looks great and comes in a lot of wonderful colors, but I would not recommend it until you can reason with your child and get them to not unlock it.
