Great item December 22, 2008 Marla A. Sanders This item was purchased as a gift so I have not used it. It looks like a wonderful and useful appliance for any kitchen.
Works well December 17, 2008 T. Padgett (Atlanta, GA) I bought this to replace a smaller Cuisinart waffle iron that conked out after at least six or eight years. This uses almost one cup of batter to make four 4" x 4" waffles. Because of the size, it goes through a batch of batter pretty quickly. The iron has a control knob that sets temperatures and levels of waffle doneness. It works pretty well. I noticed no uneven heating, but I always give the iron several minutes to warm up. I make an entire batch of waffles and freeze most of them. The waffle grids are Teflon-coated and the non-stick surface works fine as long as your batter has enough butter or other shortening and/or you grease the grid when you start. I was alerted by other reviews to exercise care in pouring the batter. I find an amount just shy of a cup (probably more than 7/8 cup) fills the four sections, resulting in no overflow. What little overflow I had during practice cleaned up easily. The plates can be flipped to make a griddle, but I doubt I'll have occassion to use that feature. I think I noticed a couple of reviews which knocked the hinges. They are not substantial, but seem perfectly adequate for the job they need to perform. In summary, this is a large waffle iron which functions well. It's a simple device that works well.
Waffle Maker October 31, 2008 Kay R. Determan (Alexandria, SD) Superb, removable plates for cleaning. I like the smaller hole pattern which isn't found anywhere but the real old irons. I also like making 4 waffles at a time.
Works great!!! August 31, 2008 Susan R. Nelson (Boise, ID) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My old school waffle iron finally bit the dust. I have been through 3 new ones and none of them made the good old crispy standard waffles that I was used to until this machine. I would definitely buy this again. My family is very happy!!!
