Great (But small) January 8, 2009 D. Austin (MN, USA) It's really hard to beat the ergonomics of the standard paper cup with the plastic 'sippy' lid. Most travel mugs are cumbersome, and have lids that require manipulation and completely dismantling to properly clean. The "I Am Not A Paper Cup" is really a great travel mug. It feels good in the hand, looks great on the desk, and is really easy to clean. Only drawback? It's SMALL! The cup itself, not so much, but the interior volume is actually SMALLER than the typically small paper coffee paper cup. Alas, this will not be my commuter mug. Perhaps it'll be my 'take a cup of coffee into the living room' mug but it just isn't big enough to get me to work.
the perfect travel mug January 6, 2009 J. R. Cawley (Vancouver, British Columbia Canada) This such a satisfying product -- so cool, simple and elegant. Easy in the hand, microwavable (finally, a microwaveable travel mug!)Its plain white invites thoughts of decorating. Love it! I want another one for my tea!
Not worth the hype January 6, 2009 Daniel V. Shea (wheeling, wv) Undoubtedly, this cup is a beauty. It looks great and feels even better in the hand. But the lid situation others write of is real and ruins the experience. I've spent the entire last week testing different 'ways' of putting the lid on, and no matter what I do, half the time the lid will leak or dribble. Your pristine white mug sits on your desk, streaked down the sides with coffee stains. Your coffee holder in your car begins to fill up with coffee, one drip at a time. Sorry, but I want to love this cup, and I'm frustrated that the lid is so poorly designed (re function, not aesthetics).
Nice idea that doesn't work.... January 2, 2009 Josey Smith (Florida, USA) I had high hopes for this product. I bought two and returned both of them. The outside is an unfinished ceramic and shows every smudge and fingerprint. The lid turns the color of my makeup as my nose touches it..and the worst part is that it leaks! The top is really loose and my tea came leaking out on both cups...also when you turn any kind of corner in your car, it leaks thru the opening. What a messy, messy cup!
Great Mug + Cautions December 31, 2008 David S. Wright (Greenville, SC USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was looking for a lidded non-BPA, non-metal, reusable alternative to the foam cups and plastic lids that my office stocks beside the coffeemaker. "I Am Not A Paper Cup" is just that, and a mild conversation piece in the bargain. I enjoyed mine for the last few months, but have a couple cautions for potential buyers. 1. The porcelain part cleans easily and completely, but the silicon lid stains permanently with coffee. The underside of the lid becomes alarmingly stained but isn't normally seen. The top right around the opening gets a little stained too. Frequent and thorough cleaning helps a bit. Whether or not this bothers you is a personal item. An alternative is to buy the separate set of lids that includes a black one. I don't know if it matters, but I take my coffee black and drink two cups per workday. 2. I no longer have my cup because last week it was thrown out by custodial staff doing an after-hours sweep of used foam cups in the office. It's just plain gone. Sigh. I haven't decided if I should get replacement.
