I ordered an 8 pack of the Basis All Clear bars. When I opened up the shipping box I noticed they were all discolored. I called the manufacturer and was told that I would receive something in the mail in order to return them. I had previously ordered 1 bar and it came with one free and both of them were not discolored.

This has got to be NO it IS the worse soap that I've ever used on my face.
I am a faithful basis sensitive skin bar soap user but I ran out and sent my DH to the store to purchase another bar. He picked up this one instead...
I decided to give this one a try after giving my DH a tongue-lashing.
This left my very sensitive skin with such a nasty heavy residue and it felt irritated for DAYS. I had to wash my face at least 3 times to try and remove the icky feeling it had.
After unsuccessfully washing with this soap I had to break out the ol' stand by--Ivory to remove the gunk and film it left behind.
It took days for my skin to get back to normal. It was dry and felt "crazy"
I understand why some reviewers(on another site) said that it made their skin worse. This (IMO) doesn't clean your skin at all it just lays on top of your skin and refuses to come off thus blocking your pores.
I love my DH but for now on I'll go to the store or order online my own skin care products.

My skin type is dark, sensitive-combination oily and dry(winter months) and did I mention SENSITIVE?

I also made a purchase on November 19, 2007 and received discolored all clear bars. I still used them thinking, maybe they had been stored in bad lighting. I did notice they were not as effective as before, but I still cannot find anything that works any better. So I guess I will stick with it. I have been using this soap since 1998 when my dermatologist recommended it to me and this is the only place I can find it.

I really love ths soap. I happened upon it the first time on a deal site and ended up with a free bar. It has a very nice mild citrusy scent and I was concerned that the mildness of the soap would cause a flare up of my adult acne. I couldn't have be any more wrong. The soap has tea tree oil in which is a natural antibacterial with drying properties. It cleared up my acne and did not leave my skin dry. I personally love the stuff. I just wish the bars would last a little longer. Warning - do not leave this soap in a wet soapdish as it will turn into a mushy mess.

I use this cleaner on my face. I like the shape, and the concave surface of one side fits right into the contours of the face. I love the fresh smell of the tea tree oil.
