Product Description Sponge tip applicators offer a fun and easy way for kids of all ages to create. There are no cups or brushes to set up or clean up. Non toxic 6 pack rainbow washable: red, yellow, blue, orange, purple, and green. Each bottle is 2.5 oz. Ages 3 years and up.
Editorial Review Parents like to encourage children in creative art activities, but sometimes painting projects can be a little overwhelming. (The bottles, the brushes, the inevitable spills, etc.) This handy-dandy art set provides six bright paint colors in sponge-tip bottles that serve as the paint applicators. Best of all, these paints are spill-proof with no mess at all. Each 5-inch bottle contains 2.5 ounces of paint in purple, green, red, yellow, blue, or orange. The sponge tip creates a neat dot of paint about .5 inches wide, and the paint dries quickly so colors can be layered. There's a wide range of creative possibilities here, including creating borders for school projects and using the paint markers for patterning activities that reinforce math concepts. An art idea sheet is also included with the set. --Marcie Bovetz

Great for my little artist! June 22, 2008 Melonjar (Ohio) My 4 year old first used Do-A-Dot with a cousin on a vacation. When we were stuck inside due to weather, these dot markers were great! The markers kept them busy up to an hour at a time. Just hand any child 3-? some Do-A-Dot and a big pack of white paper and they'll go crazy making pictures. They also used regular markers in some of their art with the dots. Fantastic! As far as washable...well. My daughter did get a big red dot on the front of a very lightly patterned dress. I went to wash it immediately and it took some long scrubbing, but DID come out. I think it was due to applying detergent directly to the dot, rubbing it in with my finger and allowing to soak for a while, then rubbing and rinsing, then a final wash. Great fun!
Horrible pink stains! July 12, 2007 Book Mamma (Vancouver, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These markers DO STAIN, especially the Magenta. My daughter is currently covered from elbows to fingertips and nothing will get it off. I was able to scrub it off my kitchen table with a lysol wipe. I don't have much hope for her shirt, though, and I wonder how long her arms will be stained pink. I don't recommend these for any age. Ink comes out really fast and keeps coming, making pools of staining liquid. Ugh.
Cleanest painting supplies for little hands and keeps them busy! July 8, 2007 L. Forcey 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These paints keep my almost 3-year-old son sitting in one place for up to an hour at a time, which pretty much nothing else will do. We bought the truck image book and we download pictures of his favorite characters, and then we make copies onto white cardstock and he has an unlimited supply of stuff to paint. We have never had any trouble getting any of the rainbow colors off of any piece of clothing or his skin or even the table that he paints on. Obviously, since they are paints you need to put a smock on your child and cover the table as well, but they are far less messy than usual paints. The tips to tend to rip a little if the paints are pulled across the paper instead of dotted. However, I contacted the company after one ripped and in an act of AMAZING customer service, they sent me replacement tips. Also, with all the fears about products made in China in the news lately, these are made in the USA. All of these qualities will keep us coming back.
Fun concept, but a little messy March 11, 2007 D. Smith 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
These are basically oversized markers with flat, circular tips that kids can use to make dots and dot-based patterns. While these are fun for children, they are messier than normal washable markers. The red, pink, purple, and florescent colors are difficult to remove from clothing and other surfaces.
FUN! Easy for little kids to use, long-lasting, washable except florescent September 12, 2006 A. Holmes (New Mexico) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We bought these paints when our child was 2 years old, and we still have the originals. They last a long time. The colors are bright, use is easy for little ones, and they are so much neater than fingerpaints. Our child does different kinds of art with these paints than she does with any other kind of paint or markers. She can "dot" the paint or use them somewhat like markers. She has even used paintbrushes to soak the paint from the tops and paint. I have never had trouble washing the regular Rainbow colors off kids or clothing; however, I have had trouble washing the fushcia florescent color of this paint out of a white cotton dress that my child played in for 2 hours after painting. Faint fuschia stains remain. I recommend washing off paint immediately after use, and putting clothing in water to soak or wash immediately after. The instructions say that the flourescent colors may stain.
