great product April 7, 2008 Christina (Somewhere in North Carolina) I love this! I bought it because we have cats and we wanted them to still be able to sleep with us but not worry about them climbing in with the baby. I worked great! The only problem I ran into was there was no sheet with it although it was listed in the parts list. All I did was email the manufacturer and they sent one to me at no charge!
Works great! February 17, 2008 ochazuke 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I initially purchased this because we were driving cross country and had to do a about 7 hotel stops to and from Grandma's in Arizona for over the Thanksgiving holiday... ugh (the travelling with small children part... not Grandma). Folds up easily. The problem with the canopy I have read in other reviews. I just zip up the corner about 3 to 4 inches and the canopy stays up. I can reach in easily to put the baby down for a nap. This is my fourth child. This item I definitely am getting good use out of. It's a good price for an item that you can only use for the first 6 months or so, comparative to a co-sleeper type bassinet which can run several hundred dollars. The fact that you can zip it up also helps younger children from poking at the baby somewhat ;) The mattress is thin and I used a standard sized pillow case... it works well as a "mattress sheet" just make sure it's tucked under.
Disappointed. June 4, 2007 D. Reynolds 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading the previous review I went out and purchased this product. I liked the idea of mesh sides, sturdy base and easy portability. But, when I received it the canopy was too floppy in the open position - so floppy I had to cut it off!. They should have designed it where the whole canopy was removable. If the infant is inside it must be in the closed position. I am also finding trouble finding a properly fitted sheet (it does not come with any sheet) and the mattress is thin.
Practicality & Safety April 12, 2007 J. Manuel (Plainfield, IL) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
We just received this product today through Amazon and we're VERY happy with it! Apart from the fact that it was shipped very quickly, this bassinet is everything we wanted and expected. Unlike most bassinets (which are also much more expensive), we chose this one because of the mesh siding. Most bassinets feel so enclosed that we wondered how safe it would be for our baby. We're very careful about ensuring the safety of our baby in our crib such that we don't use bumpber pads so as not to impede airflow and risk suffocation, so why not do the same when it comes to the bassinet? This one offers us that feature. The mesh goes all around the sides as well as the top for when you want to zip it up if you're using it outdoors. The airflow seems good so that's one less thing to worry about when it comes to the fear of SIDS. This product is also VERY sturdy and the bottom part on which the mattress rests is a hard board which makes it very stable. For you parents who are thinking of using the Angelcare Movement Sensor Infant monitor .Angelcare Movement Sensor w. Sound Monitor w. Two Parents' Units, that would be perfect for this bassinet as well due to that hardboard underneath. There would be no need to install an additional plywood for that infant monitor and it would work perfectly. This Lil' Sleeper Bassinet is also very portable, lightweight (though extremely sturdy, as I had mentioned above), and is indeed very easy to assemble. I definitely HIGHLY recommend this product more than the other frilly-looking, more expensive, 'claustrophobic' bassinets out there.
