 Unnecessarily small, but "natural" quality is worth it October 6, 2008

Even straight out of the package this mattress cover does not properly fit a Sealy brand baby-posteurpedic type mattress ("properly" being the normal safety recommendation of fully around all sides plus two extra inches underneath). It does fit on our mattress, which is several inches deep, and has never been a concern to come off and pose a hazard.
Washing on gentle cycle in cold water has not changed anything--still fits after a year and a half. We have NEVER put it into a dryer, which may be part of the problem for those who claim it fails to fit at all after laundering.
I'm strongly considering purchasing a second one--just can't find anything comparable for the price that does not have plastic or vinyl components of some sort...

I searched and searched for crib pad to uthat didnt have a plastic l/waterproof lining. This is the ONLY one I found on the internet. My son is a hot sleeper, and hwould often sweat becasue of the plastic matress below the sheet. I needed padding that would be a buffer and keep hiim cooler, and this finally did the trick. It's also natural non-bleached fabric. Great stuff, and fits our crib perfectly! I bought 3 for good measure!

Like others have noted, this pad will not fit standard crib mattresses, and it shrinks considerably after a single washing. It was short on the sides and does NOT have "deep pockets" as claimed. Nice top quilted material, but it is absolutely useless because it won't fit our crib. What a waste of money. Also, the seams started to come apart after a single wash. Sealy needs to improve this product.

I bought this same mattress pad in 2005 and sure it was a little snug but it fits the crib mattress. Since I already had one of these I was wondering what the previous reviewers were talking about.
I know now! They are absolutely right. These pads are way too small. They changed them. The one I have from 2005 fits - this new one I just bought is so tight that it bends the mattress and it stays bent. It never flattens back out.
I really liked the fact that it's 100% cotton and the one I already have fits ok but this new one doesn't. They changed the material around the padded part that fits over the mattress and it wasn't a good change. You can easily poke your fingers through it because it's so flimsy and because it's so tight.
I need another 100% cotton pad so I will be looking at a different brand. I hope I can find one!

I had to really stretch it to fit it on the standard-sized baby mattress I have. Not good. I had washed it in cold water too. Waste of money. Don't get it.
