Awesome . . . except for the mold October 29, 2008 Lily's Mom I was so excited to find these sippy cups. They did NOT leak (you have to make sure you put everything back together properly), they were sturdy, BPA-free, and my 6 month old could easily handle them. But after about three months of use, I noticed black mold growing in the spout. My husband was able to remove it initially, but it came back and we haven't been able to remove it a second time. There are also a lot of parts, which you have to put back together properly in order to prevent leaks. If it weren't for the mold, I would give these cups five stars.
No leaks but the spout gets moldy October 24, 2008 Moni (Santa Monica, CA) Good cup until I noticed the inside of the spout and around the outside edge is moldy....can't clean it and can't seem to find a replacement. Bummer
Great Idea-but it leaks October 22, 2008 Kendra Jalbert (Austin, Texas) At first I loved this product, but after a few uses I have found the product is not leak proof. I'm very disappointed.
Great concept, not a great product September 27, 2008 Andrea L. Ebaugh (Redondo Beach, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very excited to buy this "sippy" cup for my one year old. He loves to throw things around and the idea of putting a few pieces of ice in the cup, toting it to the zoo all day and having his drink stay cold is worth paying the $15 per cup for. But...as time went on, I found out that money can't buy everything. The cup manufacturer claims that the cup doesn't leak. I can tell you IT DOES! Especially after the dishwasher, if you don't get the groves in place exactly right. And, if your baby pushes down on the mouthpiece at all while drinking, it leaks. Also, a big concern...I have noticed black mold-like dots on the yellow part of the mouthpiece, under the purple lid. I wash the cup after each use, and even boiled it to try and remove the "black" spots. I wrote a concerned letter to the good people at Thermos...it's been 2 weeks and I have not heard anything back yet. I am very disappointed!!! I would NEVER spend this much money again on such a poor product. They are making lots of great options that are BPA free now...use those instead!
Don't waste your money September 14, 2008 M. Brook I purchased one of these cups and it leaked right away. The lid would not seal completely no matter how hard it was screwed on. Wrote to Thermos but got no response at all. Not worth the money at all and Thermos customer service is non-existent.
