Leaks like crazy and overpriced. October 10, 2008 Alexandra Cronk (west paterson, nj usa) I bought this training cup for my 8 month old because I'm a sucker...the first one i bought i took back because it leaked and i thought i just got a defective one. Babies-r-us reluctantly gave me a credit for it. But the other one I got is exactly the same, no matter what I do it leaks. This is the training cup to for a baby so it is not supposed to leak but it does. The price is outrageous. I like their bottles but will not purchase their products with my next child.
If I wanted I sieve, I'd buy a sieve August 28, 2008 vladitude (LACA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This product just offends me. Representing the worst of American enterprise. A company that preys on parents' fears of possibly dangerous chemicals to sell you the most poorly designed solution for giving ANY CHILD liquids... And then charges you a premium for the privilege. If any of you have ever gotten up, bleary eyed, at some god awful hour and tried to put the 10000 parts of this horror show cup together, while holding a screaming child, and trying to pour into it... You know my pain. But that's not the worst... This ridiculous contraption is a sieve. It leaks whether it's "training" or "drinking"... Some are worse than others... And by worse I mean LEAKS LIKE A GARDEN HOSE over leaks like Chinese Water torture. It's simple really... Sippy cups were invented to avoid spills! The technology is not new. The science has been mastered. Why re-invent the wheel and make it square?!!! So, it's like this... After having successfully put this cup together... Successfully filled it and given it to your thirsty child... Are you allowed your own cup of coffee and the 3 minutes to enjoy it? No, sir... No, ma'am... You must now chase your kid around with a rag and wipe up spills and hope she doesn't get the shaky-shaky urge on your favor wife's favorite Persian rug. I wish I could sue this company just to embarrass them! But this is all the time I'm willing to spend destroying whatever reputation they may have. Stay away... I'm getting a blow torch and melting them down with my kid today. The fumes are safe, right?
We love BornFree, NO leaks! August 25, 2008 A (Falls Church, VA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have had no leaking problems with any of our BornFree products when used properly. This cup is a FREE FLOWING drinking cup, There is also a training cup that is like a sippy cup that does not have free flow for when your toddler is younger. We love the bottles, the trainers, the drinking cups and that the handles and tops are interchangeable.
Very pleased August 22, 2008 M. Hertzler (East Coast USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have owned my sippys for about a year now and just love them. We first used them to transition from the bottle which was plain easy with the soft spouts. The handles made it easy for my son to hold and the lids helped me not have a wet diaper bag. We have washed all parts in the dishwasher many, many, many times and not one piece has failed. Yes, the top drips a little. But it was worth it for my piece of mind to switch to a non-BPA sippy. In truth, in my 6 years of parenting, I have found only 2 that have not leaked. I recommend these for piece of mind.
Great Cup and Better for Your Baby's Health! August 16, 2008 L. Williams (Mesquite, NV) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been using these cups for about a year now and I think they are great. I used the training cups to ween my daughter from breast feeding at 18 months. They were tougher to suck from so I eventually switched her to the drinking nipples and she has loved them ever since and she in now 2 1/2. If you want a cup that does not spill easy you will need to purchase the Training Cup. The Drinking Cups do leak if your child dumps it upside down, but I taught my daughter with in the first 5 weeks to not dump it anymore and to set it on the table or give it to me when she is finished and she has done great with it ever since. I wish they had these cups when my 10 year old daughter was a baby, because I used regular bottles with her and she had a lot more health problems than my 2 year old ever has. I think having the cup be BPA Free is worth the price and working with your child to learn how to use it correctly. To clarify the 4 or 5 top parts complaint I read on another review there is the nipple that inserts into the cap (just like a regular bottle), a removable handle (which my daughter likes when a mix the colors of the handles and the bottles), and a two-piece vent that easily snaps together and insert in to the cup, it really is simple and I do not understand what all the complaints are about.
