Amazon.com Mother bear and cubs lope along stream banks, otters wrestle, and elk (gently) vie for dominance in the striking footage that anchors this program designed to attract and educate babies. Similar in content and execution to the Baby Einstein series, Baby Superstar combines images of real life intercut with toy replicas. Viewers see a stuffed squirrel and then a litter of baby squirrels so new their eyes have yet to open. They watch a wind-up duck, footage of a mama duck and her parade of ducklings floating down stream, and then puzzle pieces put together to form images of ducks. Much of the footage is shot in U.S. National Parks; end credits thank the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, among others. Stirring classical music is the only audio. The wildlife footage is high quality enough to interest older animal lovers, but Forest Ranger is primarily for infants through toddlers. --Kimberly Heinrichs

Forest Ranger Review July 31, 2003 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My 7 1/2 month old daughter and I enjoyed the Forest Ranger Dvd very much. She was able to sit through the whole thing without any fussing or crying, which is a big plus in my book. As far as the video itself, I thought the different animals being shown along with their toy version makes the child think and begin making associations. The classical music soundtrack helps my daughter to relax and makes watching the video even more enjoyable.
5 Stars July 29, 2003 Barbara Mallen (Bowling Green, Kentucky USA) I would just like to say my baby had her eyes glued to the TV screen watching the Forest Ranger DVD. She loves the different animals in the forest and I like the fact that she enjoys the video so much. I have recommended this video to all my friends with an age appropriate child and I give it 5 stars.
Good enough for me July 24, 2003 Josie Rochen (FL) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Being a mother who is very concerned about what I buy for my child, I tend to be very critical of products on the market. I was always a little skeptical about educational videos for toddlers but when I got the Forest Ranger Dvd as a gift I was very pleased with my baby's reaction to it. He was very focused and interested in what was on the screen. I give the video a high rating because if my child agrees then it must be something good.
Approved July 24, 2003 Sharon Kozlowsky (CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We here at the Koz household approve of the Forest Ranger Dvd for our 5 month old son Garrett. He wont take his eyes off the screen because he loves all the little insects, the bear, and the eagle. Watching the video is now an everyday thing after we eat dinner before he goes to sleep. Thankyou Baby Superstar.
