Preliminary review August 22, 2008 JES and SBS (Maryland, USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The stroller just arrived yesterday, so I have not actually used it yet, but since there are apparently no reviews on this product yet, I thought people might still want to know what I think of it so far. First, I love the fact that the seat can face either direction (one of the main reasons I bought it). It also folds up neatly and easily when the seat is faced away from the handle (although it does require both hands). However, it does not seem to fold completely when the seat is faced towards the handle, which could potentially become quite inconvenient. The stroller is very nice and light and handles well (although I do not know yet how it handles with a child in it). However, it does not appear to be the best quality (my husband is concerned that it does not appear to be 100safe, for instance, because the seat is held in to the frame at only two points), but perhaps time will tell about that. The instructions booklet does say that the stroller is suitable for newborns, but I must admit that it does not look like something I would feel comfortable putting a newborn into. (Maybe that's just me--baby is not born yet.) Another thing that looks like it will be an issue: the sun awning will probably be adequate when the seat is in the upright position, but it seems that when the seat is in the reclined position, the awning will be completely ineffective. A couple of other things, although I consider them trivial: the basket under the stroller opens in the front of the stroller, rather than near the person pushing--this makes no sense to me. Also there are no cup holders, but I'm not totally sure why people want cup holders on a stroller anyway. I only paid $100 for this (not through Amazon), which is why I was willing to risk buying a product that had no customer reviews, but still, I doubt that I would buy it again having been able to investigate it in person. UPDATE: I still haven't used the stroller yet, but someone who knows what he's talking about has looked at it and assured me that this stroller is fine for a newborn. Also, I haven't tried this yet either, but I bought a canopy extender which should hopefully take care of the awning issue. I would actually probably increase my rating (even though I still haven't used the stroller), but the website won't let me.
