Great maneuverability! April 24, 2008 Juniper (Santa Cruz) I must first admit that I am not a big fan of strollers in general; however, I thought it might be nice to take the baby for *walks* around the neighborhood. (If you might be inclined to jog or hike, go for the BOB.) Initially, I liked the Maclaren strollers because they fold up small, are light weight, easy to maneuver, etc. My husband, who is generally more practical (and is indifferent to having a stroller), suggested that for neighborhood walks in our neighborhood, pneumatic tires would be the way to go. I also wanted the option of changing the seat from forward-facing to rear-facing. The Bugaboos are great in this regard, but who really wants to spend $700 on a stroller? (It's a *stroller*). I am not assembly minded at all; Lego directions throw me for a loop. When the big box arrived, I couldn't help but to dive right in. Within 30 minutes, I assembled it myself :-). Today, without the instructions (after about 10 minutes of yanking on things), I even managed to fold it and get it into my trunk. I am no connoisseur, but this stroller is somewhat absurdly big in the trunk of my Honda Civic. I rather ungracefully crammed it into the trunk for its first outing beyond our neighborhood. It reassembled quickly and easily, but I don't recommend it if you need a stroller for multiple errands. I wouldn't like taking it in and out of the trunk more than once a week (strollers are not my favorite), so for our needs, it just stays ready to roll parked in the garage and I just wheel it out when we walk. No trunk stuffing. The most useless feature on this stroller is the sunshade, though I hesitate to call it that, as it does nearly nothing to block the sun. It needs an extension of some kind, as others have mentioned. The basket is generous for our needs and my water bottle easily fits in there (there seems to be an obsession about strollers that lack cup holders--I need a stroller to carry the baby, not my drink du jour, but that's a personal preference). This stroller, though large for my tastes, handles really well. The infinite recline is very cool. The seat is a bit shallow. You'd think that with such a beast of a stroller, the weight limit could go well beyond the 35 lb. limit. The seat though--it doesn't seem like it will accommodate a long kid. We're not there yet. The colors are quite nice too! I bought this for $200 (open box special), and it's worked out really well for my simple needs. Now what should I do with the $500 that I still have by not buying the Bugaboo?
Exactly what I wanted! March 20, 2008 R. Speer (suburb of Dallas, TX) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I just purchased this stroller, and thanks to the reviews here on amazon I knew exactly what I was getting. For me, it's just right. I just went for a walk around the neighborhood in it and I found that the canopy is a bit short, but by adjusting the seat recline the sun stayed off my baby's face. I like the length of the canopy because it allows my baby to look me in the eyes while we walk. The number one reason I bought this stroller is because the baby can be turned to face me as I walk. I rarely see strollers that do that and that is important to me. I am 100% satisfied with this stroller. I love the diversity it offers, I can have baby facing me or away from me, I can adjust the handlebar to any height and the recline is super easy to adjust. It's very easy to maneuver, great to push, and it even looks super cool! It is large when it is folded up in my trunk, but no larger than my Graco was. I have no complaints!
Britax Vigour Stroller Blue February 16, 2008 Aqua Blue Great wheels, it turns around great. The seat moves up & down~great feature if baby either sleeps or sits. The only thing that I don't like is that the strap to buckle child is a thin black strap thinner than a belt. I like the straps to the other traditional strollers, but everything else is wonderful. It also doesn't come with cup holders.
Good Looking Stroller. Great Wheels. Iffy about the rest. January 13, 2008 AG 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Recently purchased this stroller for our 11 month old. BabyUSA stores carry the stroller if you'd like to see it before your purchase. We are having a very hard time adjusting the straps to fit our 18 Ibs baby, although the straps should fit a 40 Ibs baby. It were helpful to have an instruction booklet, which does not come with the stroller(only a brief pamphlet about how to attach the carseat and seat, and assembly of the pieces). Most reviews we saw were about the car seat (i.e. using the stroller as a travel system). I am a bit baffled as to why people would spend $300 instead of just getting a snap and go. We figured that a $300 stroller would be a good functioning stroller. I had a Peg Milano, Graco, Circo. My friends have MacLarens and Peg Pliko P3, so I can safely compare this stroller to all those models. We bought this as a strolelr (i.e. using the frame and the seat) 1. The stroller is REALLY heavy. (The Bugaboo is half its weight). It is not practical to fold with the seat attahced becasue you need to be RAMBO to be able to lift the thing up and into the trunk.Although if you were doing this to save space in your home, it does stand on its own quite nicely. However, when pushing it, you do not feel how heavy it is. You can even push it with one hand. 2. Having to remove the seat each time you need to fit the stroller in the trunk is quite complicated. By the way, the seat doesn't fold. It is a "straight" piece that does take up much room and volume. The wheels snap off the frame quite easily. The frame is pretty light. 3. The seat is not as cushioned as the Peg and graco. 4. The seat is narrower than all the strollers mentioned above. Our baby is 50% percentile weight. I can't imagine how a 90% percentile baby would be comfortable in the thing. 5. The adjustment handle is really wonderful. All the recline positions are very useful. However it does NOT recline to a full 180 degrees. The Peg and Graco do.. (Maclaren does not). 6. The sun cover is WAY too small. Keep in mind that you will need to purchase an add-on sun shield which ranges between $20- $50 (in addition to the $300...) 7. There are no parent tray or child tray. When your child is older you would like to put a snack on a tray while traveling outside. And it is nice to have a sippy cup there for your baby to sip when they're thirsty. Of course you could purchase a unviversal cup holder or snack tray. Another $20 in addition to the price of the strolelr. Will let you know which one fits once I buy it. 8. The bar is really small and narrow (Bugaboo a lot larger), so I don't know if any of those universal attachments will fit onto it. This bar comes off, but it is nice to have it for the child to hold while traveling. 9. The wheels are totally awesome and can weather through anything .We have friends that change the orientation or completely remove their outdoor mat in order to enter their home with the strolelr. You don't need to do so with this stroller. 10. The stroller looks amazing, so high- tech 11. Watch the price of this blue one- apparently not a popular color cause it costs less than the rest.. We purchased for $250, then it went up to $300 and now I see it's $267.. A note for the manufacturer- here are some ways to improve the stroller: 1. Why not make the under-basket larger. It would be very simple and make life easier for the parents. 2. Why not attach a sort of "mesh envelope" to the back of the seat, preferably with a compartment for the cell phone..? 3. parent/child tray or at least have it as an accesory for us to add on 4. Does the seat really need to be SO heavy? 5. The seat could be about 1 inch wider. The frame is so wide there is no reason for the attached piece to be so narrow 6 Why is the bassinet attachement not availabel in the USA? What a hassle to have to get it from England. 7. Better padding on the seat and on its sides (to cover the metal) 8. Please supply an instructions booklet
Great stroller for young babies August 13, 2007 Bethany N. Snyder (Reston, VA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This stroller is fun and easy to push. The fabric is stylish and it goes great with the companion car seat. My concern is that my 12-month old reaches the foot rest, and he fills the tiny seat. This is a great stroller for a young baby, but don't plan to use it for a 2-year-old. It is rather heavy, and folding takes two hands. It's rather difficult to get it folded without scraping it on the ground. The sunshade is small but you can buy an add on. So, just be aware that while the stroller itself works great, if you need to fold and unfold it a lot, or if you have a toddler, this is not the best choice. Overall, though, I look forward to a walk with the baby each day with this stroller.
