5 out of 5 stars Amazing..   August 10, 2010
l.p.
My daughter is very petite for a 1 year old, and this seat fits her safely and securely. It is the easiest carseat to install and I have no problem transtiting it from rear facing to front facing. We travel quite a bit, and it has great padding and cushion for her to be totally comfortable while riding. I would recommend this to anyone.

1 out of 5 stars This seat does not seem safe.   July 8, 2010

I'm a 36 year old male and I after installing our other 2 car seats I took them to be inspected. The inspector was amazed at how well I installed both seats (she actually remembered me a year later and said that I do a better job than anyone she can recall). I don't know if she was blowing smoke, but at least you get the idea that I know what I am doing.

My first safety concern occurred when I switched the latches from front facing to rear facing. This is when I noticed that the latch belts that secure to the seat become twisted when using the rear position (I've always been told that belts should never be twisted. At this point I noticed a couple of grey plastic plugs that secure the latch belt to the seat. I decided to pull them out and untwist the belts and replace the plugs (This was not suggested in the instructions, however, this minor tweak should have nothing to do with the rest of my safety concerns).

I then realized that the plastic plugs, which seem delicate, are the only thing keeping the latches secured to the car seat (I am quite sure I could break these plugs by pulling hard enough). Despite this, I continued to put the seat together figuring that somehow this seat past safety inspections so there must be something I don't know.

I used the middle shoulder belt installation on my 2004 Honda CRV. I am quite sure I installed it correctly and I made sure to put most of my weight on the seat while tightening. Yet, the base EASILY wobbled 1-3 inches. When I wobbled the top of the seat, the entire car seat tipped over in my car with ease.

There is no way that this car seat will work in my car and I have major safety concerns about the design (also no tethering when rear facing, although most car seats don't.).

5 out of 5 stars good design   May 16, 2010

a friend had one so I bought two. the straps tighten from the crotch instead of the shoulders, which I think is better. the surelatch is a blessing, makes install/removal very quick and easy.

My son is pretty average. I like to think so. He is rather long (and is within his target weight for a 12 month old), so I definitely wanted to get him a car seat that would provide him with comfort. This is just prefect. I love the padding that's included and love the fact that this car seat will grow with him. This car seat is used mainly in my parents car, and their Land Rover has the anchors for the sure LATCH technology. So, it fits alright. The only complaint from my father when he uses it in their car, is that it is not tight enough in the up right position facing forward. When my parents drive around my little one, my son doesn't shift from side to side, and that's what counts in my book.

Now, when we use this car seat in our car without the sure LATCH technology (because we do not have those anchors in our older car) we rely on just the belt. With the belt, this car seat is still amazing and does not move around and offers my son amazing comfort. He loves it. I love the belt self adjusting feature as well. Although this feature is a little tough to move up and down, which I guess is perfect because then my son cannot move it around.

The only annoying feature is the cup holder. I think it's cheap. As a matter of fact, it broke on us the other day. Because this car seat does take up a lot of space, when others sit next to it, this can cause the cup holder to break right off. Of course depending on how rowdy the people next to the car seat are. lol BUT the cup holder can be placed on either side, so I guess that one was my fault.

Other than that, I love this car seat for my one year old. He falls asleep easily in it and the recline is perfect to avoid the dangling head issues you may have with other car seats.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent car seat   April 27, 2010

We purchased this for the "next step" from our Graco travel system. Thus far it has been an excellent car seat. It holds the baby very well for short trips and lets her move enough to play with her toys. The one thing we don't like about this car seat is that for a smaller baby when they sleep their head is cocked to the side because the seat isn't able to recline enough. The baby sits basically upright, which is fine when they are awake, but when they sleep it looks awfully uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't stop the kid from sleeping, it just appears to be uncomfortable.
