| Customer Reviews: Best Seat ever used!! June 14, 2010 Mary N. Hawker (VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA, US) this seat is very easy to use/carry around, especially because of the extra rebound bar in front. This is also easy to install in the car because it has a level indicator and level positioner...you will never have to place towels under the base to keep the seat even while in the car, plus when you put the seat in, it clicks very easy to let you know it's locked in and I have never had to fight with the seat to get it out like most other car seats. I never knew that spending a few extra dollars on a car seat would make this big of a difference, glad i did!!!
Great car seat, a few dislikes April 21, 2010 S. Laughlin (Albuquerque, NM USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The color is bright and adorable, I originally thought the canopy was black and white stripped, turns out it is white, black, blue and green stripped. This car seat is very large, we have a '03 Land Rover Discovery 2 and it takes up a lot of the back seat being in the middle. It wouldn't fit behind the passenger seat unless the seat was pushed very far forward, too far for someone to sit in the front. We also have an Audi RS4 (which is a mid-sized sedan) that it doesn't fit in at all. The seat is bulky and heavy for me to carry, my husband doesn't seem to mind. He did say it is difficult to unlatch at times, he also has trouble buckling the baby into the seat due to his large hands. Besides that, the seat seems very safe and is only one of two that is offered with the anti-rebound bar. It is the smaller of the two (the other being the Britax brand). So far we like the seat a lot and are happy with our purchase.
recommended for special needs, low weight older babies March 16, 2010 Catherine 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was the third infant carrier for my baby, who is actually turning 2 very soon. The first one was rated 27", the second 29", now this one 33". With a child who has less control, with special needs, this has been the answer. Thank God for Combi! I was at a loss of how to transport a little one who can't sit in a grocery cart. Taking a convertible carseat in and out would be a hassle. Note: it doesn't fit well in the front of grocery carts, I use a simple buckle to go through the cart and put it in the place where the seatbelt would go (if you were to use with out the base). You could use a bungee cord type buckle just make sure it is all secure. Some of the dvd player cases have plenty of extra buckles that are long enough or can be doubled. You definitely do not want baby sliding!
One point of importance.... I thought about the feet being cramped at 33" still rear facing, but the design of this carseat is better than most when in the base. The rebound bar is annoying but even baby learns to like it. If your little one cannot face forward because of low weight, ANY carseat will have to be backwards, so why not use a carseat that is transportable? Easy in and out.
great look, convenient as a travel system, not very comfortable March 2, 2010 Shelly (California) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this for our son because I liked that it could be a very light travel system when combined with the combi flash stroller. However it will only fit into some combi strollers and none other....something to consider because I also have a double stroller and a jogger I use often. My son cried every time I put him in the car seat...it just seemed uncomfortable for him...later I took a closer look and the car seat is not very padded so the seat is hard. Especially in the head part where I noticed my baby was getting a bald spot...we had to stuff a blanket under neath and everything seems to be working ok. I'm just going to have to stick it out until he outgrows it since I paid so much for the thing and no one will want to buy it since the airlines broke the sun visor part.
Great Car Seat February 8, 2010 Andrea (Grand Rapids, MI) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Our baby hasn't arrived yet, so I will update this review when we can actually put this seat to use, but so far, we love it!
I spent a great deal of time researching car seats, as safety, comfort, style, and size were all HUGE issues with us. Finally settled on the Combi Shuttle due to it's safety ratings and overall features. Then, they came out with the Shuttle 33, which made our decision even tougher. We really wanted to be able to use the infant seat for the full first year of our babes life, so the fact that we can go up to 33 inches and 33 pounds was an awesome feature. We figured that the extra pound of car seat weight was worthwhile.
Some have said they don't like the handle always having to be up while in the car, but I am on the other end. Putting the handle down just extends the length of the seat, pushing the front car seats even further forward. I do love that you can use the handle to prop the seat up for the baby to sit or nap in.
The buckle is a little tough, as are all puzzle lock buckles, but safety first! All the straps are super easy to adjust and we love the fabric. It is soft, easily removed and super washable.
