1 out of 5 stars seems dangerous   August 27, 2010

I bought this chair a few months ago and I HATE it. When my twins were newborn and I placed one of them in this chair they seemed to be sitting uncomfortably and quite upright. They cried every time. I kept it as I thought they may like it once they were older. Now at three and a half months they will sit in the chair without crying, but their necks seem to be lying at a dangerous angle. The twin with less head control has his head slumped on his chest and I worry about damage to his neck; I think there may even be a positional asphyxia danger with this seat. I only put one of my sons in this chair for a few minutes at a time when they are completely awake and I have nowhere else for them to go.

4 out of 5 stars He likes it, but could be improved   January 26, 2010

For the record, there are two versions of this bouncer, that look almost the same from the packaging and have very few differences. Mostly, one has four toys and music, the other has three toys and only vibrations. I have the three-toy version, purchased in early December from Walmart.

From my son's perspective (4mo now), the bouncer is great. He loves kicking his feet, being upright, and grabbing at the toys. He is really "talkative" (baby speak, of course) while playing in it. It doesn't take too much kicking to have the bouncer be bouncy. His favorite of the included toys is the donut rattle, but he enjoys the other two included toys and the attachment loops allow for other toys to be attached instead.

From my perspective, the bouncer definitely keeps my son distracted and is a savior for when I need to do something without him or just want some time to take care of myself or my daughter. The only downside is that the toy bar tends to rotate down to the lowest point so my son has to almost reach his feet to play with the toys. I can temporarily readjust the bar up to the best height and distance from him, but a couple unintentional bops from my son sends it down again. This prevents me from giving it a five-star rating.

As it probably won't be long before my son can no longer use a bouncer anyway, and he is enjoying it, I'm not going to bother replacing it. However, it might be an idea to make sure you get the four-toy version, which sounds like it is better received by others than the version I have.

5 out of 5 stars Great product   December 28, 2009

I bought this baby seat for my daughter when she had her first child. It is well made and sturdy. It rocks each time the baby moves, plus he loves the toys hanging overhead. Such a safe way for mom to get some "free hands" time when the baby is awake.

I nannied off and on for 10 years before having my son. During that time, I made a mental list of what items were worth spending big bucks on. In my opinion, from your baby's perspective, the $100 bouncer is no nicer than this one. It does the job just fine, is durable, and not over-stimulating like so many of today's more expensive brands. I put it together in less than 10 minutes. I've never felt like it was going to "dump the baby out" as one reviewer mentioned. I'm not sure if they had a defective bouncer or what because I can't even imagine what they were talking about. My little guy loves this chair. I knocked off one star because the bouncer I received from Amazon did not come with the music function listed in the product description. Although I feel less is more in the world of baby toys (and actually am happier that it lacked music), I didn't appreciate the false advertising.

5 out of 5 stars Invaluable and a great price too!   October 23, 2009

THE GOOD:

**Cute - Nice color and I love seeing my little one in it. :)

**Ease of portability - Extremely lightweight yet really sturdy. It's easy to pick up and move around to places like on the big couch in lvg rm, bed, floor opposite kitchen, etc.) EVEN while he's in it. Love that I can do my chores while he hangs out with me.

**Thumbs up for Arc of hanging toys - When I first bought this, I would just leave the arc of hanging toys off because my baby wasn't old enough to appreciate them. Now that he's 9 weeks he really seems to be enjoying the toys!

**Baby enjoys being in it - My son loves this bouncer. He watches me from it but most of the time he just sits quietly in it, checking out the "scenery". He likes to kick his feet, smile, and "talk" to me from it as well! :)

**Hands-free care - Also found I can "bounce" his bouncer with my foot by gently nudging the frame up and down while I do computer work or check emails, etc. Invaluable for getting stuff done WHILE he's awake.

THE BAD:

**Hanging Arc of toys is NOT a handle - I was a little frustrated about this at first but then I realized you could pick up the bouncer from the metal base. The arc is really just for toys and nothing else. IMO, this issue is hardly consequential as this product gives such great value for the money.

OVERALL:

Awesome buy. You might be tempted but try not to leave your baby in this for too long!! LoL
