5 out of 5 stars My daughter loves it   July 12, 2008

This is a great book and my daughter loves the pictures. The rhyme is off but the stories are pretty good. I was not to thrilled with the second story the run away bunny. So I changed it to the explorer bunny and made it a fun time trying to eye spy the bunny on each page.
I felt the run away concept was in poor taste and my daughter doesn't need to feel the feelings the bunny expressed by wanting to consistently run away from his mother. I don't want to convey my love as a trap but as a security for my daughter something she wants always even when the feelings of exploration over take her. I want her to invite me to explore with her and not have her think she needs to run away in order to have that freedom.
Besides that it is a good collection and a good money value.

This book is very simplistic. My son who is almost two was not interested in the stories. Perhaps the book would be better suited for a much smaller child where the attention span is much shorter.

5 out of 5 stars A book every child should have!   March 28, 2008

Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny are two books that every child should have read to them. I had both read to me as a child and thus they are two of my favorites. I kind of liked having them as separate books, but having them together in one book is okay too. A great baby/children's gift.

5 out of 5 stars Goodnight noises everywhere...   May 7, 2007

I absolutely love reading this book to my daughter. I've read it so many times, I practically have it memorized. I had never heard of My World which is the last story featured in the collection, and I wasn't too impressed with it as I was Goodnight moon and Runaway Bunny. But oh well, for the price I believe its a pretty good deal.

5 out of 5 stars Three Books in One   October 9, 2006

Over the Moon is a collection of three books in one. Goodnight Moon, The Runaway Bunny and My World are all written by late children's book author Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by late artist Clement Hurd.

Goodnight Moon is celebrating its 60th anniversary. A sweet little bunny tells everything in his room goodnight as he settles in for the night.

A red balloon. Kittens. Mittens. A comb. A brush. The bunny describes his room and wishes all of his daytime play things goodnight. The illustrations also describe the room, giving parents the perfect opportunity to show each item to their children as they read.

The Runaway Bunny features a boy bunny who wants to run away from home. He describes all of the many adventures he will take to leave the comfort of his home and mommy.

But mommy bunny isn't about to let her baby boy run away. She describes the many adventures she will take to bring her bunny boy back home.

My World is a fun story full of rhymes. Comparisons like mother's chair versus my chair show big differences in adult sizes and child sizes.

All stories are perfect bedtime tales for parents reading to young children. They're also good starter stories for children learning how to read.
