Product Description
During a bedtime game, every time Little Nutbrown Hare demonstrates how much he loves his father, Big Nutbrown Hare gently shows him that the love is returned even more. Author

Amazon.com Review
All children want reassurance that their parents' love runs wide and deep. In Guess How Much I Love You, a young rabbit named Little Nutbrown Hare thinks he's found a way to measure the boundaries of love. In a heartwarming twist on the "I-can-do-anything-you-can-do-better" theme, Little Nutbrown Hare goes through a series of declarations regarding the breadth of his love for Big Nutbrown Hare. But even when his feelings stretch as long as his arms, or as high as his hops, Little Nutbrown Hare is fondly one-upped by the elder rabbit's more expansive love.

Anita Jeram's illustrations are bound to elicit an "aw" from even the sternest of readers; these loving rabbits are expressive, endearing, and never cloying. In turn, Sam McBratney tells a simple bedtime story of sweet familial love with humor, insight, and a delightful surprise at the end. Children and parents will love snuggling up for this one--a treat to be read again and again, just before the lights are turned out. (Click to see a sample spread. Text 1994 by Sam McBratney. 5 out of 5 stars Guess how much I love this book   November 7, 2008

My mom gave me this book. I was a 20 year old single mother and started reading this book to my son when he was about 4 years old. We would put it away for a couple of days and read something else, but we would always go back to it. My son was asking for the book a couple a months ago. He says he wants to tattoo one of the drawings of Big and Little Nutbrown hare on his chest, near his heart. My son is now 18 years old. I told him I rather he didn't get the tattoo. But, between you and me, when he told me why he wanted the book, it brought a smile to my face.
Well... now my sister and 4 year old niece are enjoining it. Good luck, sis.

5 out of 5 stars Great Book   October 22, 2008

Not only did this book bring back wonderful memories of my mother and I reaching as far as we could reach to show how much we loved eachother, but my son absolutly loves it. It's all in how you read the book. The more fun you put into reading, the better the book will come across. As my 5 month old son gets older, I'm sure we will be standing on our tip-toes reaching up to the sky to show how much we love one another. Those crabby people that said this book only makes it seem like love is a compition, are the same people looking for fault in every childrens show/movie, in order to do what they do best, which is crab. They're looking too much into it. Children do not look at it that way. It's all in good fun!!

3 out of 5 stars Not for my two year old   October 6, 2008

My son who is two had no interest in this book and he loves all types of books from Dr Seuss to the Byron Barton vehicle series. This book was too wordy and slow moving. I also thought it was confusing that the character in the book is a "hare" which is a tough word for a toddler that is already figuring out why sometimes they're called rabbits and other times bunnies! Anyway, we'll save this one for later.
