Loved for a long time August 11, 2010 Caron Gordon Books pass in and out of favor with my toddler, but this has been favorite for a long time. She will listen to it over and over again. Loves to lift the flaps and language is short and simple. Great for babies and young toddlers.
Exciting for all ages, but slightly flawed July 28, 2010 Lauren S. My son is only five months old, but already loves to 'help' lift the flaps in this adorable book. The text is nice & large, & the pictures are bright & simple for little ones. The flaps are interesting & varied, but are not as durable as they should be. Also, I felt that the name of the animals should be included somewhere, so there's a connection between revealing them & saying their names.
Charming interactive book July 27, 2010 Julia L. Banks (San Francisco, CA USA) My daughter adores this book. She will sit in our lap and "read" it over and over, and she has mastered the flip up pages. She waits long enough for me to make the sound of the animal before she turns the page, so it's really fun to read together. I've also found her "reading" it herself, babbling as she opens each animal cage. The story is very cute and the book has handled wear and tear very well so far. Our daughter started getting into this book around 9 months, and she is almost 14 months now. I highly recommend it and just bought it as a present for her 11 month old nephew.
My Favorite! July 15, 2010 Heather G. Kness (Milledgeville, IL) This book holds fond memories of bed time reading for me. It was by far one of my favorite books as a child and remains so today. When a child wants a pet, he or she writes to the zoo. The zoo sends crazy animals for pets. Many children love to guess what kind of animal judging by the shape of the box. To discover the animal, lift the box! No matter how many times I read this book, it is still one of the best books I have ever read!
Fun, Interactive June 22, 2010 A. Dombrowski We love this book in our house and our toddler has requested it continually for the past year. We love all of the flaps that open with the animal inside. One of the pages states "Then they sent me a camel, but he was too grumpy, so I sent him back." Now our toddler will say he's grumpy like a camel if he's in a bad mood. Funny! I recommend this book.
