Amazon.com Review
For a small bunny, the big world can be boiled down to "My slippers. / My pajamas. / Daddy's pajamas," and "Mother's chair. / My chair. / A low chair. / A high chair. / But certainly my chair." Back in print after more than 30 years, My World by Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd is every bit as reassuring and appealing to young children as its more famous companion, Goodnight Moon. Using the same format, this tale features the rabbit family as they go through their day: brushing teeth, eating breakfast, going fishing, reading stories, and climbing into bed. Black-and-white illustrations alternate with full-color scenes depicting the ever-expanding (yet still comfortably contained) boundaries of a child's life. In one image, the young bunny, clad in blue coveralls, hammers happily on his wooden truck, while Daddy, in matching coveralls, works on his own (real) car just outside the garage. Very young fans of the classic Goodnight Moon will delight in recognizing the characters, illustration style, and gentle rhythmic words in this over-50-year-old picture book. For that matter, older fans will be pretty tickled, too! (Ages 2 to 6) --Emilie Coulter

Product Description

With delightful illustrations and poetic words, follow the bunny as he greets all things familiar in "Your world. My world." The perfect companion to the classic goodnight story Goodnight Moon.

4 out of 5 stars My World   June 2, 2008

This is a great companion to Goodnight Moon. My 3-year old loves that the little bunny is in another book.

2 out of 5 stars Just stick with Goodnight moon   June 2, 2008
Corey B. Madden (Dayton, OH)
I was a bit disappointed with this one. It's from the author of Goodnight Moon, which I have to admit is far, far better. This book doesn't really have much of a flow to it and is really choppy. It doesn't even rhyme in some places. Anyway, my daughter really disliked this book and I recommend just sticking Goodnight Moon.

5 out of 5 stars My World childrens' book   February 21, 2008

I did not actually see the book - I had it sent to my daughter for my grandaughter, but she was very pleased with it and was planning to order it herself anyway, so it was a nice surprise as well.

4 out of 5 stars A bit of a let down   January 17, 2007

Be warned, this is not a repeat of Goonight Moon.

I guess it is hard to duplicate a masterpiece.

Still this book is an enjoyable bedtime story regarding the simple life of our favorite bunny family circa the 1930s-40s. The illustrations and writing to not compare to the orignal, but there is not much out there in children's literature which can. Still this is above average storytelling and my children enjoy it and that is all that really matters.

3 out of 5 stars Disappointing Sequel   January 9, 2007

This little book was touted as the sequel to the classic "Goodnight Moon" by the same author and illustrator. While this book is all right, it does not reach the quality of prose of the original. Nor are the illustrations as detailed and interesting. I especially missed hunting for the mouse on every page.
